The ABGC Board Review Bootcamp is a high-yield, up-to-date board prep resource for genetic counselors taking the ABGC board exam. Registration for the upcoming version of this course (December 2024 - January 2025) will be available in October 2024.

The most recent course took place between June - July 2024 and included 30+ hours of live instruction. Content is based on the latest ABGC board review outline and is continuously updated based on feedback from the most recent examinees. Sessions focus on reviewing board-style multiple choice questions and take place live over Zoom. Sessions are recorded and made available to participants after the sessions. Participants are given a set amount of time to answer each question via an interactive poll. Each question is followed by a review of the correct and incorrect answers, along with an explanation of the tested concept. Participants are encouraged to ask questions throughout the session. Test-taking strategies are also reviewed as part of the course.

The course is co-directed by Lynsey Rodriguez, MS, LCGC, a genetic counselor with a passion for education who successfully passed the August 2023 ABGC exam, and Daniel Piqué.

Participant Reviews

Here is what some of our recent course participants had to say about our course.

After taking the ABGC exam in August 2024, >95% of our course participants (June - July 2024) "strongly agree" or "agree" with the following statement: "The StudyRare ABGC Board Review Course helped me perform better on the ABGC exam."

StudyRare was crucial to my success as a first-time examinee. I appreciated built-in study time that helped me stay accountable with my studying, the GC boards-accurate questions, thorough explanations and discussions, and the plethora of exam tips from those who had recently passed. It is abundantly clear the dedication and passion Daniel & Lynsey both have for the success of StudyRare and every participant who takes the course. I also really loved the Discord community; folks were overwhelmingly supportive, always willing to answer questions or have a discussion, and generous in sharing resources with each other. To any and all hopeful CGCs, if you do any one thing to prepare for the ABGC exam, I would (and have) wholeheartedly recommend StudyRare
